OK, My Christians Are Just Being Silly Now

I understand the feeling that the only religion it is not cool to believe in is yours. Christians attitudes and world views are certainly under attack by culture, Hollywood, and Democratic leaders and that party's hardcore base. Before I sound all persecuted and stuff, I also believe that Christians are well prepared to fight back, as they should.

But this is just silly.
TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa Zoo will add a display featuring the biblical account of creation following complaints to a city board about other displays with religious significance, including a Hindu elephant statue.
Look, the Hindu elephant was chosen because they wanted to show elephants in other cultures. I mean, they also had the GOP elephant on display. It was about the animal, not the religion. Besides, its Hindu! Who takes that crap seriously anyway. It might as well be a statute of Zeus.

Of course, the zoo left itself open for criticism.
But those who favored the creationist exhibit, including Mayor Bill LaFortune, argued that the zoo already displayed religious items, including the statue of the Hindu god, Ganesh, outside the elephant exhibit and a marble globe inscribed with an American Indian saying: "The earth is our mother. The sky is our father."
Yeah, the Less Recently Immigrated American quote is religious in nature. I'm sure it was just a watermelon environmentalist's idea though.

So where do you put a "creationist" exhibit? And how does that fit into the zoo? If you are going to insist on a Christian/Jewish animal exhibit, how about the story of Noah's Ark? At least the focus was the animals.

These are the types of stories ripe for public ridicule that Christians just don't need.

No, I missed Boortz on the subject. But I am not surprised. He is way more harsh than I (in fact, I flat out disagree with him often) on some of these social/religious issues.

But debates like this zoo thing leave the door open.

No worries, I'm sure the smell of this blood has already reached the nostrils of the ACLU.
