DiMaggio Streak Safe Another Season

Joe DiMaggio's hitting streak of 56 games is considered one of baseball's greatest records. With today's specialization of late inning pitching (in Joe's day, tired pitchers regularly pitched the late innings - not so today), and the difficulty of getting a hit in 56 games with only 3-5 official at bats per game, the streak may never be broken.

The NYT's was recently reported to have had an incredible streak of its own. Thirty-two (that's 32) straight days with a cover story on Abu Ghraib.

After further research, it appeared that someone fell asleep on the job on May 23, so the streak was reduced to 22 days. In any event, here are the front page stories:
