Who Clones The Dogs?

South Korea did.

But don't count on a better world populated by identical and resourceful Lassies just yet.

That's because the dog duplicated by South Korea's cloning pioneer, Hwang Woo-suk, is an Afghan hound, a resplendent supermodel in a world of mutts, but ranked by dog trainers as the least companionable and most indifferent among the hundreds of canine breeds.

The dog has a history of constant battles with his fellow Afghan Hounds, often leaving their Afghan kennels in shambles. The breed has also been known to battle with Russian Laikas for years, though the Russian Laikas do not seem to attack any longer.

In a related story, Kim Jung Il announced that he has solved North Koreas famine problem, though he would not give details on the new, abundant supply of meat he is shipping to politically friendly families.
