What Punishment, If Any?

We have a teenager who played a prank.

A dern funny one I think.

The police have charged him with "disorderly conduct."

Question: should he be punished? Is this "disorderly conduct"?

I'd have laughed, scolded him harshly, and sent him home.

Discuss amongst yourselves.

I dunno. We are talking about Wall Mart here. Those folks can be kinda skittish, and those are the smart ones.

But if we're imposing charges, disorderly conduct doesn't say anything. If he was knocking everything off the shelves, that would be disorderly. They need a new category, "scared the bejeesus outta me" conduct.

Stupid kid took a couple of cops out of the doughnut shop. Two Saturdays of Community Service picking up trash and expunge his record so he can get into college.

If you want to punish him, make him work at Walmarts.
