Atlanta Braves -- 14 In A Row

IN A CLASS ALL BY ITSELF

For some reason, No Government Cheese is down but I can still compose. Hopefully this will come up when the site does.

The Atlanta Braves just won Division Title 14 in a row tonight. No team in any pro sport has ever won its form of a division title that many times in a row. This is no minor accomplishment, especially in the day of free agency.

Bobby Cox is a great manager. The Braves have won these titles many different ways - pitching some years, hitting others. This year, the bullpen has stunk many nights and Bobby Cox had to include 3-4 rookies in the starting line-up most nights. What an incredible feat.

The Braves have not won as many World Series as we would like, but winning is winning, and excellence is excellence.

Congratulations Braves!

Ya know, I hope y'all are enjoying this dynasty thing you've got going down there, 'cause it sure make for a lousy Richmond Braves team year after year after year.

Sox and Yanks still tied up with 5 games left - 3 against each other. I've been waiting for a Red Sox-Braves series since Dale Murphy retired. I may have to wait a bit longer.

Well, we will probably fold in the NL playoffs again this year. We used to fold in the World Series. Now we do it in the first round. But we keep winning division titles, and that is better than not winning them.

Well done, Braves.

Yes, you might:)

Neck and neck...and neck. I'm not sure my nerves can take five more night of this. I know yours can't.

So when are they going to be forced to change the name?

I concur, the Braves are a fine organization and Bobby Cox is underrated as a manager. That many division titles is an impressive feat.

I just hope the Astros can be there in the playoffs to show them the door.

I would say, bird cage liner hacks, sports talk knotheads, and a good many Braves fans who grow bored with division titles and yawn through the first round of playoffs (if they show up at all)then complain they have only won one series in Cox's era.

Braves, indeed. Let's rename them The Courageous Native Americans who Fought Off the Mongrel White Hords.

Braves fans do underappreciate the greatness of their manager.

But I will be there in every round that they play.
