At 11:23 AM, Jane Bellwether said...: It's hard to feel bad for the little fella - I've seen them in my friend's backyard feeder, and they aren't the pretty little things they're thought to be when you get up close. They bash other birds who want to feed, they have terrific, vicious aeronautical battles over the area around the feeder, and they spew pee as they fly away when they've had their fill. My friend had to change clothes and take a shower after sitting under the feeder to watch the birds once. I decided not to put up a hummingbird feeder.
